Alumni from Houston's storied Kashmere High School Stage Band return home after 35 years to play a tribute concert for their beloved band leader who turned the struggling jazz band into a world-class funk powerhouse in the early 1970s.

This 60-track, 3-CD set celebrates the golden age of Soul Music from all of the genre's big names, including Barry White, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye, The Three Degrees, The Stylistics, Ike & Tina Turner and Gladys Knight & The Pips. Aimed squarely at the Motown 50 female nostalgia market, every one of these songs was a massive UK hit, and the album includes 12 UK Number 1s. This package majors on the biggest hits during 1970-75 that have not been marketed in the recent past, a strength of Latino Summer and Back to Life. Also a number of Greatest Hits packages from these artist have proved very successful - The Stylistics and The Drifters being notablr recent examples. A number of these tracks have also been used in synchs with the latest Marks & Spencer campaign featuring Billy Paul's classic Me & Mrs Jones.
